How to change language, appearance and reminders

Settings is where you make Dzikir App yours: language, look, text size and reminders.

Quick start

  1. On Home, open Settings under More.
  2. Change what you need. Every change is saved right away.
  3. Use Back to return to Home.

In detail

Language

Dzikir App is available in 19 languages, including right-to-left Arabic, Urdu and Farsi.

  • Tap Language and search for yours.
  • On a phone, switching between a right-to-left and a left-to-right language restarts the app. On iPhone, close and reopen it yourself.
  • Your Quran translation follows the app language.

Appearance and theme

Under App Theme you set how the app looks.

  • Appearance: System, Light or Dark.
  • Theme Color: choose one of seven colors.

Arabic text and font sizes

Make reading comfortable for your eyes.

  • Arabic Font Style: Uthmani or Indo-Pak, with a live preview. Tajweed Mode can be turned on here too.
  • Font Size: separate sizes for Quran, Arabic, Latin and translation text.

Notifications and reminders

Under Notifications & Reminders, first tap Turn On Notifications if notifications are off.

  • Tasbeeh Reminder: a daily reminder to count your tasbih.
  • Morning Dhikr Reminder and Evening Dhikr Reminder: at Fajr and Asr time.
  • Prayer Time Reminders: for each of the five prayers, choose Adhan, Sound or Silent, and tap one to hear it.

Tips

  • Dark mode is easier on the eyes for night reading.
  • If text looks too small for Arabic, raise the Arabic and Quran font sizes separately from the rest.

Frequently asked questions

Why did the app close when I changed language?

Switching between right-to-left and left-to-right languages needs a restart on phones. Just open the app again.

Why don't reminders work in my browser?

Browsers can't schedule reminders. Use the Android, iOS or desktop app.
